Verna: The Language of the Solarnati

Origin

The Verna language was not created from scratch. It was born as a cultural amalgam among ecological communities from Latin America, Oceania, parts of the Mediterranean, and Indigenous peoples who survived the collapse in regions of low urban density. Its foundation lies in the Romance languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French), with significant influence from Quechua, Māori, and several Bantu and Austronesian languages.

Evolution

Verna emerged as a living language within isolated eco-communes. Its syntactic structure prioritizes harmony and the description of natural processes. The language adapts to the rhythm of the seasons, the flow of water, the cycles of harvest. Orality is key, and many concepts have no direct translation outside the ecological context in which they were formed.

Form of Communication

Poetic, descriptive, highly metaphorical usage. Speaking Verna is not simply conveying information, but narrating with sensitivity. This causes misunderstandings with other factions, who perceive it as imprecise or abstract.
